About the Process

Placing Teams in the Appropriate Competitive Division of CYSL

Duxbury Youth Soccer is a member of and plays in the Coastal Youth Soccer League (CYSL).

We work with the Coastal League Competition Committee on team placements. It is the Board’s point of view that our teams should be placed in the most competitive league as possible where teams and games are evenly matched.

If a team has been placed inappropriately, the DYSA Board will work with the Coastal League Competition Committee to correct the placement between the Fall and Spring season.

CYSL ranks divisions in the following order with the most competitive teams playing in D1:

• D1 MTOC (Division 1, Massachusetts Tournament of Champions eligible)
• D2 MTOC (Division 2, Massachusetts Tournament of Champions eligible)
• DCC  (Leveled Competition Dave Coutts Cup)

By conducting evaluations, DYSA aims to have teams placed according to their competitive abilities. This helps ensure a positive game day experience for all players resulting in an increase in confidence, skills, and passion for the sport.
