ABOUT DUXBURY YOUTH SOCCER

Participation Policy

Welcome to the Duxbury Youth Soccer Association (DYSA), where our goal is to provide a positive and enriching soccer experience for the youth of our community. As a volunteer-driven organization, we count on the collective efforts of parents, guardians, and members of our community to support our mission. We kindly remind you that:

Right to Participation:

  • Participation in DYSA is a privilege and not an automatic right of residence.
  • Participation in DYSA programs may be revoked at any point without prior notice or explanation, at the discretion of the organization, to protect the player(s), volunteer board members, volunteer coaches, and the integrity and safety of our programs.

Commitment to Conduct:

  • DYSA upholds a strict no-tolerance policy against harassment of any kind towards our volunteer board members & volunteer coaches, referees, players, or any other participants and spectators.
  • All members, including players and parents/guardians, are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a safe, fair, and respectful environment and play.

Your Role and Responsibility:

  • By registering your child with DYSA, you acknowledge these terms and policies and personally accept, and accept on behalf of your player(s), the responsibility to uphold the principles of Zero Tolerance, respect, sportsmanship, and support that are the foundation of our community soccer program.
  • Registration means acknowledging that our volunteer board members and coaches are dedicating their time to the children in our community, helping to foster a love for soccer. They should not be expected to allocate an unreasonable portion of their time to issues concerning individual playtime, coaching assignments, team placement, or win-loss records.
  • By registering, you also recognize that the process for providing feedback starts with your designated Age Group Coordinator (AGC). You agree to allow the AGC reasonable time to respond. If escalation is necessary, it will be directed to the VP of the respective age group (VP of Coastal for U10-U14 or VP of Mini for Pre-K to U8). Further concerns will be brought to the attention of the President of DYSA.

Expectations of Respect:

  • We expect all involved with DYSA to treat one another with respect and sportsmanship. Harassment, disrespectful behavior, and/or an unreasonable amount of time spent on playing time, player team placement and win/loss records will not be tolerated and will result in suspension and/or removal from the program.

Together, we can create a positive and joyful experience for all our young athletes. Thank you for being a part of DYSA and for contributing to our shared goal of nurturing a love for soccer within our community.
